I caught 16 fish within 3 days 2 in the 40-50 pound range. 4 in the 30-40 pound range and the rest went 20-30 pounds. We were releasing the smaller females. Saw many marlins and sail fish they did not want to play. The crew and manager were awesome.

LORETO, MEXICO: Capt. Julio from Maņanero Sportfishing reports , "The dorado season in Loreto has begun in earnest! Almost all boats are catching limits well before noon, with the rest of the fishing day spent on catch and release. I fished 3 days the past week, Friday, Sunday and Tuesday, with a total catch of 18 dorado of 10 to 50 pounds. The larger dorado came on mackerel baits,
"All three days we fished the area loosely described as the Punta Lobos. Only on Friday did we fish a wide-open school bite centered on a small piece of floating plywood.
There is a considerable amount of Sargasso in the water, but very few of the paddies seem to be holding fish. Loreto fishing area water temperatures ranged from 76 degrees to 78, with sea conditions ranging from flat calm to uncomfortable wind-driven chop. And it's starting to get hot at Loreto, in the low to mid-90's with some humidity."
For the week, the Hotel Oasis reported on 16 panga' outings, with a combined catch including released fish of: 32 dorado of 18 to 45 pounds, 1 sailfish, 5 grouper averaging 13 pounds, 4 cabrilla, and triggerfish. Most of the dorado were found between Isla Catalana and Bajo de las Boyas on mackerel and sardina bait.
